The South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law was established in 1952
and represents some 187 patent attorneys, patent agents and trade mark
practitioners in South Africa who specialize in the field of Intellectual Property Law.
Intellectual Property Law embraces the law relating to patents, trademarks,
registered designs, copyright and unlawful competition (passing-off of trade secrets).
It also includes litigation, licensing and franchising.
